Opinion by the Attorney General
The law upon this subject is to be collected from the Merchant Shipping Act 1854, Section 242, and the Merchant Shipping Act Amendment Act of 1862, Section 23, and the Hongkong Ordinance No. 11 of 1860.
¶ The 242nd Section (par. 5) of the
Act of 1854 empowers the Board of Trade to suspend or cancel the Certificate of
any
Master or Mate.
If upon any investigation made by any Court or tribunal authorised
